Class Code 2585 Rates & Quotes

Laundry NOC

Class code 2585 is used for employees that work for a laundry service, not otherwise classified. Operations that would qualify for this classification would include both retail and wholesale establishments and all employees, including drivers and route supervisors. Job duties vary by position, but may include such tasks as soliciting new customers for business, collecting laundry, marking, weighing, and sorting laundry, washing, tumbling, and drying operations, starching and ironing by hand or machine, mending as needed, folding and wrapping, and then delivering clean linens back to the customer. In addition, other similar jobs, such as the stone washing of jeans for manufacturers, carpet, rug, or upholstery cleaning, diaper services, and non fabric goods (such as Venetian blinds, computer parts, or plastic goods) cleaning are also included within the scope of class code 2585.

While this is a NOC classification and will include a variety of insureds, some operations that are similar but not included are cleaning or dyeing services, retail dry cleaning or laundry stores, and towel or toilet supply companies. Employees that work within these operations should be separately classified.
