Class code 2688 is used for employees that work in the manufacturing industry specific to small goods made with leather or imitation leather. Products that are included within the scope of this classification are wallets, key cases, pocketbooks, and toiletry cases. Footballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, and basketballs are also included. As part of the normal job duties, employees assigned to class code 2688 may be involved in skiving and/or splitting leather as well as folding, gluing/cementing, punching, eye-letting, sewing, and riveting. Heat sealing may also be required if the material is vinyl instead of leather.

Manufacturing of bladders is excluded, however, as the materials and manufacturing process is quite different. Other exclusions include boot, shoe, glove, or luggage manufacturing, leather tanning and embossing, and leather dealers.
