Class Code 3179 Rates & Quotes

Electrical Apparatus Manufacturing NOC

Class code 3179 is used for employees that work in the electrical apparatus manufacturing industry, not otherwise classified. This would include electrical fixtures and/or appliances, such as electrical cable conductors, conductors, snap-in fittings, cable straps, cable supports, bushings, wall switches, couplings, nipples, fixture extensions and clamps. Since this is a NOC classification, it may also encompass the manufacturing of fractional horse power motors, flashlights, fire alarm sirens, smoke alarms, thermostats, grocery check-out laser scanners, microwave ovens, toasters, irons, percolators, electric shavers, waffle irons, electric grills, hot plates, fans, humidifiers, and vacuum cleaners.

Companies whose business is manufacturing metal household or commercial freezers may also use this classification for the production and assembly of the refrigeration units. Along the same lines, cryogenic devices, evaporative coolers, and household or commercial tanning bed manufacturing facilities can be similarly classified.

While many employees are covered under this broad category, there are some similar tasks that should be placed in a separate class code. These include such things as battery manufacturing (both dry and storage), automotive lighting, ignition, or starting apparatus manufacturing, computing, recording, or office machine manufacturing, electric bulb manufacturing, electric power or transmission equipment manufacturing, instrument manufacturing, and telephone, radio, television, or telecommunication device manufacturing.
