Class Code 6206 Rates & Quotes

Oil or Gas Well: Cementing

Class code 6206 is used for employees that perform cementing or acidizing operations in connection with oil or gas wells, including drivers. Job duties will vary, but usually will include the pumping of pressurized and mixed cement through the casing, to the bottom of the well and/or acidizing wells (both old and new). Additionally, specialists who perform “fracturing”, or the pumping of highly pressurized fluid into rock fractures to expand them, are also included within this classification as long as the work is not done by a drilling company. This class code is all inclusive, and includes all operations that are performed within the scope of this type of work, including drivers.

Exclusions to class code 6206 would be any worker using a derrick or portable derrick rig for acidizing work and cementing operations that are considered incidental to drilling or other operations of oil or gas wells. When classifying workers to this class code, it is also important to follow the extra-territorial classification guidelines for each worker to ensure that they are properly classified.
