Storage Warehouse NOC

Class code 8292 is used for employees that work for a storage warehouse, not otherwise classified. Operations that qualify for this classification do not have any equity in the products that they store and their primary business will be in managing the warehouse location, maintaining equipment, as well as receiving, safekeeping, and releasing of the products for shipment. Products stored may vary greatly, but may include such things as non perishable food products (such as coffee, rice, potatoes, peanuts, etc.), general merchandise, and bulk materials. Storage is usually on a long term basis and will not be handled frequently.

Similar operations that should be excluded from class code 8292 include freight handling businesses, cold storage warehouses that provide refrigeration, furniture storage warehouses, wholesale stores that own and use their own storage facilities, tobacco rehandling or warehousing operations, and drivers that work for a warehouse company.
