Class code 8745 is used for employees that work for a news agent or magazine/periodical distributor that sells to retail locations. Operations within this classification will act as a wholesale dealer, and be involved in the sale and delivery of bulk orders that are received from publishers. Job duties will vary from employee to employee but may include such things as receiving media from others, sorting, bundling, and separating large quantities of media into smaller orders, and delivering these orders to customers by truck.

Any business that operates in a retail capacity would be excluded from class code 8745, including newsstands, cigar stands, and retail establishments selling to the general public. Also excluded from this classification is anyone that delivers media, such as newspapers, magazines, advertisements, samples, telephone directories, etc. house to house.
