Farm: Nursery Employees

Class code 0005 is used for employees that plant trees either in a tree nursery or in forestry operations. In the work in forests, this class code is typically used after logging operations are complete and new trees need to be planted. This code also applies to work required to prepare the site for the trees which includes scarification to loosen the soil by Cat or tractor, site preparation to clear underbrush, tree planting by hand, and tree protection through bed capping, netting or tubing to deter game and rodents from damaging seedlings. These operations may be performed by hand or machine, although tree planting and protection is usually completed manually with appropriate tools. Tree harvesting and maintenance operations are excluded from this code.
