Class Code 0106

Tree Trimming

Class code 0106 is used for employees that do work related to pruning, spraying, repairing, trimming, and fumigating trees. Typical equipment used within this class code includes hand shears, pole pruners, pruning saws, chain saws, spray apparatus, guy wires, and cables. While this work may be done from the ground or using ladders and/or aerial buckets, all work must be performed without the use of heavy machinery, like bulldozers and hydroaxes.

If there is minor tree removal needed to maintain the right of way, this would also be included as long as the tree was cut into small pieces when removing. Employees that work exclusively in tree removal or whose primary job is in the clearing of trees for construction would be excluded from this class code. Those aiding in the removal of broken or damaged limbs that are leaning on buildings, homes, utilities, or other structures resulting from a natural disaster, however, would be included.
