Class code 2305 is used for employees that work in the textile manufacturing industry, specifically dealing with the production of synthetic fabrics. This is generally done through an extrusion process, involving the melting of plastic or other similar pellets. Examples of products made can include nylon, rayon, acetate, polyester, and other similar synthetic fibers. Pyroxylin manufacturing is excluded from this classification.

Those working to manufacture the rayon staple fiber, using either the viscose, acetate, cuprammonium or nitrocellulose processes, are included within the scope of class code 2305 as well. Rayon plants will also be expected to engage in primary spinning to make twisted, dried yarn. This is done using bobbin spinning machines, secondary spinning machines that add the twisting operation, and a final machine to wrap the rayon yarn onto cones in preparation for shipment and distribution.
