Class code 2388 is used for employees who work within the embroidery manufacturing industry. This would include those that add embroidery to textile fabrics and embroidery backing (such as cloth, silk, wool, paper, cotton, rayon, nylon, or other synthetic yarns) received from outside sources. This would be achieved by punching a pattern onto a paper strip that is then run through machines that transfer the pattern design to the cloth. Once completed, the cloth will be removed from the machine, cut, inspected, and repaired as necessary, then packaged for shipping and distribution.

All operations of embroidery manufacturing will be included in this classification, even those using computer-driven devices. Examples include nailhead ornamentation (using a foot press), pleating/stitching/tucking (not clothing), and trimmings/ribbons (hand sewn). The manufacturing of cloth, canvas, and related products would be excluded, with no division in payroll permitted for a single person.
