Machinery used to created these products includes but is not limited to saws, planers, lathes, jointers, molders, routers, shapers, sanders, and buffers, as well as equipment to apply stains, varnishes, lacquers, or paints. Code 2883 includes assembling and finishing products with power machinery as well as applying stain or lacquer. This Code also includes the manufacturing of wood signs with power machinery, billiard tables, cabinets for audio or visual devices, and the installation of components for devices, piano cases, and cigar boxes. Also included in this classification is the manufacture of furniture and frame parts assembled into pieces such as chairs, buffets, dressers, chests, beds and other furniture. Exclusions from this classification that are similar in nature include barrel stock manufacturing, brush or broom assembly, furniture and cabinet shops that assemble by hand, match and pencil manufacturing operations, musical instrument manufacturing, and anyone working within a planing or molding mill.
