Class code 3069 is used for employees that work for a facility that manufactures products made from sheet metal, aluminum sheet stock, Monel metal, copper or brass sheet stock, or stainless steel. Commonly found products that are produced by operations within class code 3069 include, but are not limited to, metal doors and door frames, metal sash manufacturing, metal cabinets and enclosures, metal furniture, bedsteads made of metal, copper gutters, partitions, lockers, shelving, incubators, garment racks, steam tables, water coolers, radiator cabinets or shields, sinks, counters, sheet metal automotive parts not requiring extensive stamping or forming, as well as metal caskets or coffins. Work that is typically performed within the scope of this class code will include shearing sheet metal to size, notching, punching, bending, forming, deburring, and sanding operations, assembling and finishing with paint, enamel, porcelain, or other baked finishes, and some stamping or forming.

Exclusions to this class code that are similar in nature but that should be separately rated are facilities that manufacture products from extruded aluminum, installation or repair of any products on a construction site, operations that involve extensive punching, stamping or blanking of sheet metal, the manufacture of fireproof doors or shutters made with wood but covered with metal, and any business that produces structural or reinforcing products made of metal.
