Tool Manufacturing - Not Drop Or Machine Forged NOC

Class code 3113 is used for employees that work in the industry of tool manufacturing. This classification includes all companies that produce tools, dies, jigs, and machine fixtures which are not forged using drop hammers, or other forging machinery. Forging, hammering, and shaping within this class are done completely by hand. Examples of job duties that may be performed include cutting, shaping, heat-treating, turning, grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and finishing. In addition, assembling, polishing, painting, plating, and buffing are allowable as well. The types of tools that can be made within the scope of this class code include plumber’s hand tools, watchmaker’s tools, small machine hand tools like cutters, taps, reams, counter sinks, and end mills, wrenches, chisel bits, twist drills, levels, gauges (excluding air or steam), and other similar non-forged tools. Non-forged metal molds that are manufactured for the plastic industry can also be included.

While operations that cannot be otherwise classified may be acceptable for class code 3113, any drop or machine forged manufacturing, blacksmithing, hardware and saw manufacturing, and agricultural tool manufacturing would be excluded.
