Class code 3824 is used for employees that work for a facility that engages in the manufacturing or assembly of automobile, bus, truck, or trailer bodies, not otherwise classified. These are generally components of the body that are made with materials other than die-pressed steel. Employees that are included within this class code may do a variety of work including body repair or service work, receiving parts from others, fabricating the chassis or other parts required to produce the bodies, installation of interior trailer equipment when manufacturing trailer bodies, the manufacture or repair of boat trailers, shipping containers, bus/truck/trailer bodies that are not made of die-pressed steel, and the welding of parts into position. Some positions will also be subject to a division in payroll with another classification, so long as the requirements of the Basic Manual are met.

Exclusions to this class code that are similar but should be otherwise classified would be employees that engage in painting of automobile bodies, including sanding, masking, spray painting, and baking. Also excluded would be those operations that manufacture bodies made of die-pressed steel and non-motorized trailers that are used as residential housing or for construction, medical, or bank structures.
