Concrete Work – Construction of Private Residence

Class code 5215 is used for employees that perform concrete work incidental to the construction or repair of a private residence or military building used for housing, welfare, or keep of personnel. Examples of structures that would qualify for this classification are one or two family private residences that are not over three stories in height, military barracks, mess halls, hospitals, canteens, post exchanges, officers’ quarters, administrative buildings, and recreation centers. Work may include, but is not limited to, foundation walls, concrete footings, cellar floors, basements, sidewalks, and driveways. Tilt up wall construction is also rated under class code 5215.

Exclusions to this class code would be anyone working with monolithic concrete, specialists performing ground supported concrete work and paving jobs, and concrete pumping operations. When classifying workers to this class code, it is also important to follow the extra-territorial classification guidelines for each worker to ensure that they are properly classified.
