Class code 5402 is used for employees that work for operations that engage in hothouse or greenhouse erections. This is an all-inclusive classification that includes a variety of job functions and personnel. Additionally, when classifying workers to this class code, it is important to follow the extra-territorial classification guidelines for each worker to ensure that they are properly classified. Examples of commonly performed tasks include excavation work, concrete (foundation) and carpentry (forms) operations, erecting the frame and sash, installation of glass panes or a glazed sash, electrical wiring, installation of a boiler and its components (such as pipes, chimney, smokestack, etc.), installation of watering systems, and the putting up of plant benches or shelving units. All parts of the greenhouse or hothouse will be manufactured by others and simply received and installed or erected by those listed under class code 5402.
