Class code 5462 is used for employees that work for a glass merchant or glazier, who perform their job away from the shop location, including drivers. These workers will typically deliver and/or install products such as plate glass windows, replacement glass, mirrors, or other glass related merchandise. Work may be performed in a variety of locations, including storefronts, residential houses, and commercial buildings. Additionally, the installation of metal window frames is also included in this class code, as long as it is necessary for glass installation and incidental to the primary work.

Employees that perform their work within a permanent glass or glazier shop, those individuals who are responsible for glass storage or preparation (but not delivery and install), and anyone who installs structural glass blocks are excluded from class code 5462 and should be separately classified. When classifying workers to this class code, it is also important to follow the extra-territorial classification guidelines for each worker to ensure that they are properly classified.
