Class code 6235 is used for employees that perform drilling or redrilling work in connection with gas or oil pipelines, including drivers. Examples of jobs that are commonly performed by a drilling company listed in this classification include, but are not limited to, erection and/or dismantling of drilling rigs, formation fracturing, cementing and installation of casing, cleaning or swabbing of a new well, drilling of holes using a cable or rotary-type rig, as well as directional drilling. Crews are generally made up of individuals who act as tool pushers, drillers, derrick personnel, roughnecks, and rotary helpers as well as the occasion motor person, rig mechanic, and/or electrician.

Any company of individual who specializes in the leasing of drilling tools and equipment is excluded from class code 6235 and should be otherwise classified.
