Class code 6306 is used for employees that perform all operations of sewer construction, including drivers. This classification is all-inclusive and will cover workers performing a variety of work specific to the installation of force main-type sewages and storm sewer lines (including the outfall), as well as concrete drain box, catch basin, and manhole construction. Examples of jobs that are commonly performed include, but are not limited to, trench digging (whether done by hand or with mechanical tools), boring, hauling, handling and laying pipe, making connections, incidental masonry or concrete work, fence construction, filling or backfilling operations, and non pneumatic tunneling at street crossings.

Exclusions to class code 6306 that should be separately classified would include construction work not related to sewer, surface restoration jobs, and tunneling operations. When classifying workers to this class code, it is also important to follow the extra-territorial classification guidelines for each worker to ensure that they are properly classified.
