Class code 7600 is used for employees that work for a telecommunications company, not classified by another code. Services that are typically provided by companies in this classification include cable television, satellite, cellular phone services, etc. Job duties that are most commonly found within class code 7600 includes drivers, employees that perform maintenance or extension of lines (both overhead and underground), and those who clear right of ways, erect poles, and lead sheath cables used for multiple circuits. Additionally, workers who make service connections to subscribers and perform installation work are also included. Work may be done to main coaxial cables or trunk cables, distribution lines, and extensions or service connections under the scope of this class code.

While most work performed in regards to telecommunications will be included in class code 7600, there are some exclusions that should be separately classified. These would include operations for conduit construction of cables or wires, dispatch workers, and those employees that strictly work within an office or exchange.
