Class code 8021 is used for employees that work for a wholesale meat, fish, or poultry dealer. Stores that would be included within this classification are those whose primary business is distributing fresh and cured meat, fish, or poultry in a wholesale capacity. Job duties will vary somewhat, but generally will involve the receiving and cutting of the meat, fish, or poultry into steaks, chops, roasts, fillets, or parts to sell to restaurants, clubs, hospitals, hotels, institutions, and retail stores. Carcasses may be cut into primary and secondary cuts, as required.

Exclusions to class code 8021 would be any employee working in a packing house or performing duties such as slaughtering or processing meat. Retail meat cutting operations that sell directly to the public would also be excluded and should be separately classified.
