Automobile Salespersons

Class code 8748 is used for employees that work as automobile salespeople. This would be inclusive of anyone employed in a sales capacity by a sales and service operation that engages in the selling or long term leasing of new or used automobiles. Products sold may include things like cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, and mobile homes. In addition, this classification is also applied to employees who act as salespeople for a sales and service franchises dealing primarily in diesel engines for trucks or for any salesperson of boats and outboard engines. This would include both inland locations, as well as those located in a boatyard, marina, or boat dock.

Exclusions to class code 8748 that are similar in nature would include employees that do short term automobile rental related work, outside collectors, those selling automobile accessories & parts, and anyone who engages in both the sales and the demonstration of power machinery.
