Class code 9101 is used for employees that work for a college or school, in a manual labor capacity or other non professional position. This includes but is not limited to jobs like grounds keepers, maintenance personnel, unpaid trainees (not rated elsewhere), and security guards. Non professional workers employed by a training facility such as a military school, seminary, day nursery, medical school, veterinary school, or driver training facility would also be included. Finally, the scope of this class code also allows for all non professional employees of public libraries or museums (operated by a municipality), religious organizations, and secular or nonreligious “chapels” as well.

All professional employees that work for these locations, such as professors, teachers, administrators, social workers, guidance counselors, therapists, nurses and nurse’s aides, athletic coaches and assistants, teacher’s aides, and other clerical employees would be excluded and should be classified separately. Anyone that is responsible for security or protection work in these locations, but who are not employed by the school would also be excluded.
