Class code 9516 is used for employees that work for an electronic equipment shop, doing work related to installation, service, or repair. Work may be completed in homes, automobile, or boats and includes (but is not limited to) such things as televisions, DVD players and recorders, speakers, digital video recorders, alarm systems, radios, marine radar systems, depth finders, intercom systems, and home sound systems. In addition, installers qualifying for this class code may also erect and mount satellite dishes (less than 36 inches) on homes or other structures. Also included within the scope of class code 9516 are employees who perform repair or service work on mobile communication devices, such as telephones, beepers, and pagers.

Exclusions to this classification would be those who engage in electrical wiring, tower erection, installation, service, or repair of appliances, visual or sound equipment installation for stadiums or theaters, repair of office machine equipment, erection of large (greater than 36 inches) satellite dishes, or any retail employee that sells related equipment but does not work in the installation or repair of it.
