This classification may be divided with other classifications as long as all rules of the Basic Manual are followed and proper payroll records are maintained. Work that may be performed under this class code includes upholstery duties that are performed in shop, not classified to another code. Examples may include casket or coffin upholstery and furniture upholstery, as well as the installation of automobile trim molding, striping tape, and door edge guards and the manufacture of furniture made entirely from foam rubber with cloth coverings.
Operations that are closely related to upholstery but that should be classified separately include clothing manufacturing (including burial garments), automobile seat covers and convertible tops, slipcover and drapery manufacturing, and upholstery work that is performed away from the shop in conjunction with home furnishing installations.
